Black ops notification lag?

Well i started playing black ops this morning and all the sudden my xbox 360 system starts to quiet down but like it makes no noise at all and then my notification starts to lag if you dont know what a notification is its like when in multiplayer the narrator guy says "enemy spy plane inbound" or "defeat is unexeptiple" so anyways it tells me ive been defeated like 11 seconds after it usaully does i checked the disc and it does have a ring around it but i tried the tooth paste method but i dont know whats wrong all the other games work fine on multiplayer please help
