Why is a man who tried to keep schools safe and up to academic par vilified?

George Wallace just wanted your children's schools to be safe environments where they could learn and not have academic standards lowered to accommodate inferiors. You should be thanking him instead of bashing. He is most likely looking down at public schools now and saying I told you so.
