Why do my parents not trust me?

My parents never have seemed like they liked me. They send my sister to 'spy' on me and she won't let me go many places without supervision. When she was about my age she started smoking and drinking and that's when she started dating my dad who was 3 years older than her. I guess that's probably why but why is she comparing herself to me?
