I-485 in process and passport expired?

My I-485 along with I-765 is in process and I just received a letter telling me to go in for biometrics on july 14th which is in a couple of weeks. After da biometrics, let's say my I-485 gets approved, will my expired passport be a problem?? Do I need to renew it? Even if I do, it'll take at least a month and a half to receive it.
