look the biometric chip in a passport is a chip not a tracking device the chip holds information about you so when you go through immigration in some countries they have a scanner and it activates the chip and then brings the information up on a computer screen. i know this as i was deported from the USA and i tried to go to canada and because my flight changed in the states i had to go through american immigration and it flagged it up on the computer when they scanned the chip so i was sent back to the uk and didn't even get to see my brother in toronto. i don't see why they would track people as it is an invasion of ur human rights.
